I bought a pair of these in TDU Khaki for my Luke Skywalker Bespin themed costume for the annual Disney Star Wars Half Marathon weekend’s 10K run. They were the most economical choice for the look of a tactical pant as well for the color that I needed for the outfit. I paired them with the 5.11 RECON Trainers in coyote. To figure out my size, I went to local stores to try them on. The best fit for me was where the elastic stretched just a little bit. The only thing I did not like about the pants was that they are a bit too baggy up top, probably due to the pleats and the high rise. I would have a preferred a flat front or non-pleated pant that was a bit more fitted and with a lower rise. At 5’ 6”, my inseam is typically 27.5” for pants, so the rise is typically too high for most pants. The shortest they offered was a 30 inch inseam, so I took them to a tailor to get them hemmed right after my purchase. I did not get to wear them until the day of the 10K. To get around any possible chafing, I used Brave Soldier Friction Zone on my legs. They didn’t distract me at all from focusing on my run. I had no issues with heat, binding, slipping, or chafing. The front pocket was secure enough to comfortably secure my iPhone 6 Plus during the entire run, as well as my wallet in the back pocket. Functionally, the pants are great, but the style and cut is a bit dated for my tastes, so outside of the event that I bought them for, I don’t see myself wearing them even casually.
